Plain definitions of payroll terms used in the app.
- 13th month pay
Total basic pay for the year ÷ 12, paid by December 24. More
- Accrual
How leave credits build up over time, for example 5 days a year earned monthly. More
- Basic pay
Your salary for regular hours, without overtime, premiums or allowances. The 13th month is based on it.
- Calibrate
Kompyut testing common payroll methods to find the settings that match your real payslip. More
- Cutoff / pay period
The dates one payslip covers, like the 1st to 15th and the 16th to the end of the month.
- Daily rate / hourly rate
Your pay for one day or one hour of regular work. Hourly rate = daily rate ÷ paid hours per day.
- Daylight saving time (DST)

- Divisor
How payroll turns a monthly salary into a daily rate, for example salary ÷ 22 days, salary × 12 ÷ 261, or salary ÷ the work days in that month. Which one is yours?
- DOLE
The Department of Labor and Employment, which enforces the Labor Code's pay rules.
- Double holiday
Two regular holidays on the same date. Rare. Worked pays 300%.
- Gross pay
Everything you earned in a cutoff before deductions.
- Net pay (take-home)
Gross pay minus deductions like SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, tax and loans.
- Night differential (ND)
At least +10% for work between 10 PM and 6 AM.
- Overtime (OT)
Work beyond your paid hours per day. At least +25% on ordinary days and +30% on rest days and holidays. More
- Paid hours per day
Your normal hours, usually 8. Work beyond this is overtime. Unpaid breaks aren't counted.
- Regular holiday
A holiday like Christmas or Labor Day. Paid even if you don't work; 200% if you do.
- Rest day
Your scheduled day off each week. It doesn't have to be Sunday. Working it pays at least 130%.
- SIL (Service Incentive Leave)
5 days of paid leave a year by law, after 1 year of service.
- Special non-working day
A holiday like Ninoy Aquino Day. No work, no pay unless company policy says otherwise; 130% if you work.
- Special working day
A commemorative day that's a normal work day. No premium.
- Undertime / late
Scheduled time you didn't work. Deducted at your hourly rate.
